Clotilde Armand and Cees Loggen join local and regional delegation to CoFoE

With these two new names the Renew Europe in the European Committee of the Regions delegation to the Conference on the Future of Europe – a true liberal project where citizens are key and central – is now complete.
Clotilde Armand is Mayor of Bucharest Sector 1 since October 2020, a former MEP and member of USR-PLUS who recently participated in our Liberal Mayors Summit. Cees Loggen is President of the Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions (CPMR), regional minister for the Province of North Holland for VVD and a former coordinator for the Natural Resources commission in the European Commission of the Regions for our group

From our side, our delegation is now complete and consists of five members: François Decoster, our President and Mayor of Saint-Omer, France; Mirja Vehkaperä, chair of the city board of Oulu, Finland, Paula Fernández Viaña, Minister of the interior, justice and foreign action in the government of Cantabria, Clotilde Armand, Mayor of Bucharest Sector 1, former MEP, member of USR-PLUS and Cees Loggen, President of CPMR, regional minister for North Holland, former coordinator of the NAT commission in the European Committee of the Regions. On top of this Renew Europe CoR delegation as part of the European Committee of the Regions, our member Simone Beissel, Deputy Mayor of Luxembourg City, also participates on the Conference on the Future of Europe, representing her country, Luxembourg. Several members will also be organising citizen’s dialogues over the coming months to feed into the Conference, such as Paula Fernández Viaña did in Cantabria. For this CoFoE, a civic platform was created as a hub where every citizen can share their ideas per topic. How do you see the Union? What would you like to see improved? As the future is in your hands, it is important to make your voice heard. This can be done on the Conference on the Future of Europe’s website.

The CoR will present its final contribution to the Conference at the 9th European Summit of Regions and Cities, to be held during the French Presidency of the Council on 3-4 March 2022.
