Practical information for study visit to Slovenia

This year the annual study visit and external seminar which is hosted by our Slovenian members Jasna GABRIČ, Mayor of Trbovlje, and Andreja POTOČNIK, Member of the of Tržič Council will take place alongside ALDE Party Council meeting in Ljubljana.

The event is divided into two parts: morning meetings in Ljubljana alongside ALDE Party Council meeting and afternoon study visit to Trbovlje.

TRANSPORT

Ljubljana is a small city and therefore easily navigable by public trasnport, taxi, or on foot.
Airport access
All flights to and from Ljubljana are operated through the Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport, which is located 25 km from the city centre and can be reached within a 20-minute ride. Owing to its small size, international direct connect are somewhat infrequent, delegates are therefore advised to book as early as possible to secure the most convenient travel options.

The cheapest way to get into from Ljubljana airport to the city centre is by public transport. Every hour bus number 28 departs to and from the airport, however at weekends the bus runs less frequently. The bus stop of the airport is located close to the terminal (Letališče Brnik), the stop in the city centre can be found at the main bus station (Avtobusna postaja Ljubljana). The bus station is located next to the train station of Ljubljana and reachable by bus in 50 minutes. Tickets are for sale on board the bus for the price of € 4.10 each.
 
Other possibilites include:
– TAXI:  a taxi to the centre of Ljubljana will cost you approximately 30 EUR.
 
Moving around in the city
The public city bus network makes it easy to travel within the city. Holders of the Ljubljana Card are entitled to free of charge use of the city bus network.
 
Ljubljana also has a well-organised taxi service, which is not expensive. There are fixed spots in the city where taxis are stationed, or they can be ordered by telephone.
