About the meeting
Extraordinary group meeting
The next Extraordinary Group Meeting will take place in Lille, France, on 23rd June at the invitation of our President, François Decoster.
The meeting will focus on boosting our impact in the new mandate, as well as on Lille’s impressive European Capital of Culture legacy and will include an activity related to General Charles de Gaulle, who was born and raised in Lille.
The preliminary plan is to begin with a study visit on the afternoon of Sunday 22nd June looking at what lessons we can draw for today’s Europe from De Gaulle’s wartime and Cold War time leadership. On Monday 23rd, we will meet at the Hauts de France regional parliament for presentations and discussions on the transformative power of European Capital of Culture and its contribution to European unity.Â
