During the European Committee of the Regions June plenary our group discussed Ukraine with the launch of the European Alliance of Cities and Regions for the Reconstruction of Ukraine, the automotive regions alliance, as well as presented two reports; one on the implementation of green budgets at local and regional levels by Vincent Chauvet and one on the new EU Arctic strategy by Mirja Vehkaperä. Guy Verhofstadt MEP also intervened on the resolution on the results of the Conference on the Future of Europe and its follow-up.

Our President François Decoster also intervened in the debate with Guy Verhofstadt MEP on the Conference on the Future of Europe resolution and follow-up. Decoster argued that we need to continue to dare, to dare to invent new formula’s. It’s the Renew Europe family that initiated this innovative and unique formula for the Conference on the Future of Europe and now every EU institution needs to apply itself in the implementation of its recommendations.
