The Summit of Young Elected Local and Regional Leaders (YELL) is back! The next edition of the two-day event, co-organised with LYMEC (the youth wing of ALDE Party) and YDE (the youth wing of the European Democratic Party) on 24–25 September 2025 in Brussels, Belgium will bring together young liberal-democrat politicians (aged 18–35) with elected mandates and leadership responsibilities to connect, exchange ideas, and shape the future of local and regional governance in Europe.

This annual initiative provides a unique platform for young liberal-democrat politicians aged 18 to 35, who hold elected mandates and leadership responsibilities, to connect, share insights, and exchange innovative approaches. The summit is organised in cooperation with European youth organisations, including LYMEC and YDE.
The 2025 edition will focus on the theme: “Housing: Bridging Perspectives“. Participants will engage in discussions about the complex housing issues affecting young people today – both personally and in their roles as local or regional decision-makers. The programme will emphasize policy solutions and community-level strategies that can help address housing affordability, availability, and sustainability.
The event will open on Wednesday, 24 September with arrivals and a series of partner-led activities, concluding with a networking dinner. The main summit will take place on Thursday, 25 September at the European Committee of the Regions. A detailed agenda will be shared with selected participants closer to the event date.
Eligibility and application:
Candidates must be aged between 18 and 35, hold an elected mandate at local or regional level, and have a leadership role – either in government or opposition – within the Renew Europe political family. Please be sure to indicate all relevant positions in your application. Participants will be selected based on experience and to ensure geographical, policy, and gender balance.
For those selected, travel and accommodation will be covered for selected participants, subject to a financial ceiling and availability on a first-come, first-served basis. For further information or clarification, contact: andreea.colintineanu@cor.europa.eu.
